First, a quick overview of the access permissions and share rules within ScriptNoted. You may select one of three access permissions settings for a file:
» Public will display your file to all users who have access to your company's private network on ScriptNoted.
» Project will display your file to all users who have access to the project(s) with which you have associated the file.
» Private will not display your file to anyone in your company's private network or on a project team unless you explicitly share it with them via the Share tab on the File Detail Page for the file.
In addition to the above access permissions, you may also set rules for how you’d like to share your files for feedback:
» Open means that anyone who has access to your company's private network or the project(s) the file is associated with may also access your file. This setting allows for implicit file access, but file access and progress are not tracked by the system.
» Request means that a user must explicitly request access to your file and will not be able to read it unless or until you approve. All requests for file access will appear on the timeline on your user profile page. This setting, like an explicit, one-to-one file share via the file's Share tab, tracks file access and progress.
To update file permission and exchange settings at any time, click on your name in the top-menu. Then click on the My Files link in your profile sub-menu. Click on the file title you wish to modify to view its File Detail Page.
Click on the Settings tab (wrench icon) and scroll down to view or modify the File Visibility for the file. Note that you may update these settings on a file-by-file basis.
